Welcome to the IPMA-HR Arizona Chapter Web site. IPMA-HR is an organization that represents the interests of over 5,500 human resource professionals at the federal, state, and local levels of government throughout the world. AZ IPMA-HR members!  

Yes, it’s that time of year again – the Arizona IPMA-HR Board of Directors 2012 Election Call for Nominations.

The Board consists of 13 members, including five Chapter Officers (President, President Elect/Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past President) and eight Board Members.  Board Members serve two year staggered terms; all terms begin July 1st. Chapter Officers and Board Members are expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings.  The Board meetings are normally held in conjunction with the bi-monthly luncheon Chapter meetings.  There is a one-day Board of Directors Planning Retreat held each June for all incoming and outgoing members. 
  
This year we will be electing:   
President Elect/Vice President Four (4) Board Members   
Listed below are the roles and responsibilities of Chapter Officers and Board Members. 
  
President:
  The President presides at all meetings of the Chapter and the Board of Directors.  The President appoints Committees for carrying out the activities of the Chapter.  The Office of President is assumed after service of one-year as President Elect.  After a one-year term as President, the incumbent serves one additional year on the Board of Directors as Past President. 

President Elect/Vice President:
  The President Elect acts as President in the absence of the President or by the President’s temporary incapacity to serve.  The President Elect becomes President after a one-year term as President Elect (total of a three year term of service.) 
  
Secretary:
  The Secretary is responsible for keeping the membership records and other records of the Chapter, and for submitting an annual report of the Chapter’s activities to IPMA-HR national office containing a summary of Chapter activities, new officers, and a financial report.  This is a one-year office term.  If the candidate elected Secretary is not already a member of the Board of Directors, he or she will be elected to a two-year term of service. 
  
Treasurer:
  The Treasurer is responsible for receipt, custody and disbursement of Chapter funds, subject to the control and review of the Board.  The Office of Treasurer is a two-year term. 
  
Board Member:
  Board Members serve two year staggered terms.  Board Members may chair and/or participate in Chapter committees and other service roles as determined by the needs of the Chapter.
