Karen Doncovio
Karen has been employed in the Human Resources profession since January of 2000 and began her career in the field of Human Resources with the City of Scottsdale. Karen received her BS in Management from Arizona State University and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Ottawa University. She has been a member of the International Personnel Management Association, Arizona Chapter for the past six years, and is currently a board member (recently elected to serve a second term). As a board member, Karen has served on the Program Committee for the past three years and currently serves as the chairperson. Karen has also been a member of the Professional Advisory Council (PAC) with Jobing.com since 2004. In September of 2005, she earned her Professional Human Resources certification and recently passed the test for certification through IPMA.
Karen began with the City of Glendale in the Human Resources Department in August 2003 as a Human Resources Analyst in the Employment Division and was promoted in July of 2005 to Sr Human Resources Analyst serving as a liaison to the Field Operations Department which is part of the Public Works area. Karen serves as the liaison for the Utilities Department which is also a part of Public Works. Her time is devoted to serving the needs of the department which includes the areas of employee relations, recruitment, classification & compensation, training, HR-related policies and procedures, and other various projects. Karen's mission is to strategically and successfully assist Departments in meeting their goals as they relate to Human Resources.
