	International Public Management Association For Human Resources - ARIZONA CHAPTER

	Carolyn Sellmeyer Carolyn graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas with a B.S. in retailing. After working in retail management, she changed directions and began a nine-year stint with the Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services Department. There she honed interviewing skills and the ability to interpret and apply regulations as a welfare caseworker. Over 17 years ago, she began working for the City of Litchfield Park as a part-time clerk, eventually becoming full-time, helping out in all areas of the City. The City saw the need to centralize Human Resources and gave Carolyn the responsibility of starting the Human Resources function from the ground up as a solo practitioner. Today, it is still a one-person full-service department, facing the same challenges as a larger department. Along with the HR responsibilities, Carolyn is also responsible for payroll, risk management and some special projects for the City Manager.
